Unlike trend-driven influencers, Niharika believes in promoting products and experiences she would genuinely use herself. From sustainable fashion and handcrafted accessories to eco-conscious home essentials, clean beauty, wellness, and ethical brands, every collaboration reflects authenticity, trust, and purpose.
With over two decades of corporate leadership experience, she brings professionalism, credibility, and thoughtful storytelling to every brand partnership. Her content resonates particularly with working professionals, women over 35, entrepreneurs, and families seeking to embrace a more responsible and intentional lifestyle.
Her philosophy is simple: sustainability should feel achievable, aspirational, and relevant to everyday life, not overwhelming or exclusive.
Through elegant, relatable, and timeless content, Niharika collaborates with brands that value quality, transparency, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility, creating meaningful stories that build long-term trust rather than short-lived trends.
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Niharika:
Your philosophy, “From Closet to Mindset,” has resonated with many women. What inspired this journey?
My journey actually began with my love for fashion. Ever since my college days, I have been fascinated by clothes, colours, fabrics, and personal style. Dressing well always gave me confidence and became my personal feel-good factor.
Like many people, I kept shopping every season and gradually built a wardrobe full of clothes. Eventually, I realised I was constantly buying new pieces while donating older ones simply to make room for more.
The turning point came during the COVID-19 pandemic. It completely changed my perspective. I realised how little we truly need to live a happy and fulfilling life. That experience shifted my focus from endless consumption to mindful living.
I began re-styling outfits I already owned, recycling sarees and occasion wear, and embracing minimalism. That’s when I realised that true transformation isn’t just about organising your wardrobe; it’s about changing your mindset. That’s how “From Closet to Mindset” was born.
What does an organic and sustainable lifestyle mean to you beyond fashion?
For me, it goes far beyond clothing or choosing products with an organic label. It’s a conscious way of living.
It means making thoughtful decisions, choosing products that are natural, recyclable, ethically made, and kind to both our bodies and the environment. More importantly, it’s about becoming aware of our everyday habits and understanding the impact our choices have on the world around us.
I strongly believe in one simple philosophy: “What comes from the earth should eventually go back to the earth.”
To me, sustainable living is about simplicity, responsibility, and living in harmony with nature.
How can working women build a sustainable wardrobe without compromising on elegance or professionalism?
Building a sustainable wardrobe doesn’t mean sacrificing style; it simply means becoming intentional.
I recommend investing in timeless wardrobe essentials that can be styled in multiple ways. Neutral colours, quality fabrics, and versatile pieces never go out of fashion.
Women should also feel confident repeating outfits. Accessories, layering, and creative styling can completely transform the same look. Repurposing sarees and occasion wear into contemporary outfits is another wonderful way to extend the life of our clothes.
Working women, especially mothers, have the opportunity to inspire their families and workplaces through conscious choices. Sometimes one person’s actions encourage many others to rethink their habits.
What mindset shifts are essential when moving from fast fashion to conscious living?
Everything begins with changing the way we think.
The first shift is moving from “More is Better” to “Better is Better.” Instead of asking whether something is fashionable, ask whether you’ll still enjoy wearing it a year from now.
The second shift is looking beyond the price tag and considering the true cost. Who made this product? Was it ethically produced? How long will it last? Every purchase supports a certain way of doing business.
The third shift is moving away from constantly following trends and embracing personal style. Trends change every season, but authenticity never goes out of style.
What are some simple changes beginners can make to start living sustainably?
Start small and stay consistent.
Carry a reusable steel or glass water bottle. Keep a cloth shopping bag with you. Buy fewer clothes but choose better quality. Support local artisans and organic products whenever possible.
Most importantly, finish and fully utilise the products you already own before replacing them.
Often, the most sustainable product is the one that’s already sitting in your home.
Many young professionals think sustainability is expensive. How do you balance sustainability with affordability?
That’s one of the biggest misconceptions.
Mindful consumption often saves money because you’re buying fewer things that last much longer.
My advice is to buy thoughtfully instead of impulsively. Invest in quality essentials like shoes, work bags, denim, and wardrobe basics. Repeat outfits confidently and focus on long-term value rather than short-term savings.
A well-made garment worn hundreds of times is often far more economical than several inexpensive pieces worn only once or twice.
Your content reflects a “clean and classy” lifestyle. What does that mean beyond appearance?
For me, a clean and classy lifestyle has very little to do with expensive brands.
It’s reflected in how you think, speak, behave, and treat others.
Speaking respectfully, honouring your commitments, building positive relationships, consuming mindfully, and leading with kindness are all part of true elegance.
Character is always more powerful than appearance.
What are some misconceptions about organic and sustainable living that you’d like to change?
The biggest myth is that sustainable living has to be perfect.
It doesn’t.
You don’t need an entirely organic wardrobe or a perfectly eco-friendly home overnight. Every conscious decision matters.
Progress will always be more meaningful than perfection.
As a content creator, how do you stay authentic while collaborating with brands?
Authenticity has always been my biggest priority.
Unlike trend-driven influencers, I only collaborate with brands, products, and experiences that genuinely align with my values and that I would personally use or recommend.
Every recommendation reflects something I truly believe adds value not just another promotion.
My goal is to inspire mindful choices that are beautiful, practical, and sustainable. I believe audiences appreciate honesty, and trust is far more valuable than chasing every trend.
What kinds of brands and collaborations are you most passionate about?
I enjoy collaborating with brands that share a commitment to quality, transparency, craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility.
Some of the categories I’m particularly passionate about include:
– Sustainable Fashion & Ethical Clothing
– Organic & Clean Beauty
– Eco-friendly Home & Living
– Wellness & Healthy Living
– Sustainable Travel & Hospitality
– Artisan & Handmade Products
– Lifestyle & Luxury Brands with Responsible Practices
I believe meaningful collaborations should educate, inspire, and help people make better choices, not simply encourage more consumption.
Looking ahead, what impact do you hope to create over the next five years?
My vision is to build a community where women feel empowered to choose themselves without guilt, prioritise their well-being, embrace conscious living, and define success on their own terms.
I especially want women navigating different phases of life to know that it’s never too late to reinvent themselves, pursue new passions, and create a life they genuinely love.
If my journey inspires even one woman to rediscover her confidence, strength, and purpose, I’ll consider that a meaningful achievement.
As I often say:
“I don’t just want to influence what women buy; I want to influence how they see themselves.”
